Dear Teachta Dála,

I am writing to urge you to carefully consider your position in the upcoming Motion of No Confidence in the Government.

There is a growing sense of frustration among the Irish public. Concerns around accountability and the use of public funds have become increasingly difficult to ignore. High-profile examples of spending—such as the bike shed, the National Children’s Hospital, and other costly projects—have contributed to a perception that public money is not being managed with the care and responsibility people expect.

Despite Ireland’s strong economic position on paper, many ordinary people are struggling. The cost of living continues to rise, housing remains out of reach for many, and increasing numbers feel forced to leave the country in search of better opportunities. For those who remain, raising a family and maintaining a decent standard of living is becoming more challenging.

There are also serious concerns around public services, including healthcare, as well as the overall cost of essentials such as fuel and electricity. These pressures are being felt daily by your constituents.

A vote of no confidence presents an opportunity to reset and restore trust in how the country is governed. It is a chance to demonstrate accountability and to prioritise the long-term wellbeing of the people of Ireland.

Recent events have highlighted the strength of public feeling on these issues. As an elected representative, your responsibility is to act in the best interests of those you serve.

The decisions made now will be remembered.
